Aug 12, 2008 - Alberta Has Highest Population Growth Rate In Canada

On April 1, 2008, Alberta’s population was 3,512,368, up 1.8% from

April 1, 2007. This was the highest provincial growth rate in the country and far

outpaced the national advance of 1.1%.  Over the last 12 months, Alberta accounted

for 17.8% of Canada’s population increase.  In the first quarter of 2008, net

interprovincial migration to Alberta was 713 and net international migration was 8,403
